I enjoyed the first season of Night Agent, where a lower-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Brasso) uncovers a plot to assassinate the president at camp David because he answered an emergency phone used by Night Agents. You may recall that Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan) was throw into the world of espionage because of her aunt and uncle. Together they work outside of the normal processes, to try foiling that plot.
Season 2 picks up 10 months later, with Peter now a newbie Night Agent himself on a mission in Thailand. Events transpire that plunge him into another plot unrelated to the first season. He isn’t sure who to trust and starts investigating the plot on his own.
Rose, meanwhile, is working in California as a programmer for a computer company. She is worried about Peter, and tracks him down in New York, ultimately joining him on is investigation. They meet an Iranian working at the mission to the UN in New York who helps. Together, everyone works to solve the plot… and it turns out to be bigger than I had expected.
Look, I could describe this series more but I don’t want to give away some of the events. Political thrillers all have similar story arcs, right? Our characters face challenges and adversities along the way but the story almost always ends in a positive light for our heroes and heroines.
Night Agent has been renewed for Season 3.
